Drais ducat

12 June 1817: Karl baron von Drais, creative inventor born in Karlsruhe, went on his running machine’s maiden journey. His innovative device should later be known as “draisine”, the precursor to the present-day bicycle. To honor his idea’s bicentenary, Kaffeehaus Schmidt created delicious “Drais ducats”, with us contributing to its package design.
